And the contractor was satisfied…?
Video footage from Chinese implosion shows massive discharge of fly rock.
According to the English-language voice over, the implosion of this incomplete and abandoned high-rise structure in the Chinese city of Zhongshan took place in a residential area. Which calls into question the huge amount of debris discharged by the blast.

I reckon they must have used fireworks to bring it down! Good blast wrap at ground floor but none anywhere else. How do I get some work there to show them how it should be done?

You can see why explosives engineers get to travel so much; just a pity this outfit didn’t have Robinson & Birdsell’s number.

This outfit is run by a bunch of professors from a local university. They started out the hard way…..learning as they go.
I was able to personally visit an explosives demolition project in China. It’s a totally different experience and I spent a lot of time biting my lip.
One thing I found unusual is that they don’t really embrace the concept of exclusion zones and they blast in the middle of the week. I will post my pictures when I have time.

That would be great Robert. One of the nice things about this job is being able to compare and contrast how demolition is approached in different locations around the world. And while some of those methods might not be up to UK health and safety standards, they’re no less fascinating.

The twin towers came down the exact same way. How odd.

Why such huge charges so high up the structure? Looks like they threw rock into the neighbouring Province.
