Safedem achieves notable first…

Safedem by Name, Safe by Nature

Safedem Ltd has become one of the first UK demolition contractors to achieve the new ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard. The company was independently assessed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) and achieved conformity to the new international standard just three months after its publication.

The primary goal of ISO 45001 is the reduction of occupational injuries and diseases. It is the world’s first International Standard for occupational health and safety, and provides a robust and effective set of processes for improving work safety in global supply chains. ISO 45001 follows the High Level Structure of other ISO standards like ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 which makes integration of these standards much easier

“ISO45001 is designed to help organisations of all sizes and across a broad range of industries. And we believe it is particularly pertinent to the demolition and construction industries,” asserts Safedem managing director William Sinclair. “We are proud to be one the first demolition contractors to achieve compliance to this standard. This accreditation is an appropriate recognition for the commitment to occupational health demonstrated by everyone within Safedem, and it wholly complements our existing ISO9001-2015 & ISO14001-2015 accreditations. We will continue to eliminate risks in the workplace and strive to build a culture where quality, safety, health and the environment underpins the values of all stakeholders in achieving an incident and injury free environment.”
