Load of balls…

Anglian Demolition strikes deal to reunite bowling balls with rightful owners.

Contractors clearing a fire-hit site in the centre of Great Yarmouth have unearthed 200 bowling balls from the rubble.

Now they are hoping to reunite them with their owners as work continues to breathe new life into the area.

Fire broke out in a building in Regent Road on August 4 and quickly took hold, destroying an indoor market and bowling alley.

Anglian Demolition and Asbestos Limited, who are responsible for the clearing of the site, are aiming to reunite the balls with their owners and are asking people to collect them at their head office.

Karl Endersby, demolition contracts assistant said: “The balls were all found safe inside lockers in the building’s changing rooms.

“Some of these people had been using the bowling alleys at the Superbowl for many years, even decades, and they lost clothing, shoes and equipment.

“But it would be good to reunite as many people as we can with their bowling balls as some sort of positive news.”
