Double-tendering, and how client penny-pinching is putting demolition lives at risk.

Well, it seems that double-tendering – the process of having to renegotiate a contract price having already won it – is not just rife in the UK demolition industry; it is now considered part and parcel of the sector.

Our recent survey on the subject (and which is now closed) revealed that more than 97 percent of all respondents have been the victim of double-tendering. The findings also suggest that clients are regularly seeking post-tender discounts of 20 and 30 percent to “sweeten the deal”.

But it is the comments from respondents that are the most telling.
