Alberts music studios in Neutral Bay, known to have launched the careers of Australian chart legends AC/DC, The Easybeats, The Angels and Rose Tattoo, is to be reduced to rubble to make way for a luxury apartment block.

The Rangers Rd headquarters – the company’s home since 1984 – is being sold to a developer who is building a block of 23 apartments and shops worth more than $60 million.

The developers, Helm, struck a deal with the family behind the business and the building will be demolished early in 2016. It is not known where Alberts intends to relocate.
