Philly demolition claims another life…

Worker killed during demolition of strip mall.

Authorities have identified a construction worker who died during the demolition of an Ocean County strip mall.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says 52-year-old Raymond Crosby was killed when a part of the building’s roof collapsed on top of him.

Police and Bayville firefighters were called to the demolition site of Beachwood Plaza around 2:10 p.m. Thursday after a foreman from Piscataway-based Edgewood Properties reported the roof collapse.

Rescue crews found the Keansburg man among the debris shortly before 3 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This latest incident is the latest in a long list of demolition accidents to have taken place in Philadelphia in recent years.
