Political correctness be damned, this is a tradition!
Every country has its quaint traditions. Here in the UK, for example, hundreds of people gather each year at Cooper’s Hill in Gluucestershire to risk life and limb chasing a cheese as it rolls at breakneck speed down a near vertical drop.
And while some of these traditions seem a little old fashioned and out of step with modern tastes, it is vital that they are preserved. Particularly when they involve gold bikinis and free parking.
According to our buddy Neile Rosenlund from Rosenlund Contractors, there is a tradition on Australia’s Gold Coast in which beautiful young meter maids dressed in gold bikinis drop coins into overstayed/expired parking meters to stop a car owner being fined for overstaying.
Quite what that has to do with demolition and high reach excavators, frankly, is anyone’s guess. But you have to admit, it does make for quite a photo!
