Four workers hurt in wall collapse…

Investigation underway after Manhattan incident.

Four construction workers were seriously injured when a Madison Avenue building under renovation in midtown Manhattan partially collapsed Tuesday morning, New York City police said.

The four men were in the process of demolishing a masonry wall inside 331 Madison Ave. near Grand Central Terminal when it collapsed on top of them, a law-enforcement official said.

The four were taken to Bellevue Hospital Center with injuries that were not considered life threatening, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m., police said. Police and New York City’s Department of Buildings investigators are on the scene investigating.
