Comment – The sincerest form of flattery…

NDA career connection tool has a familiar feel to it.

Almost three years ago, Demolition News Towers was gripped by a sudden and rare bout of altruism. With the recession starting to tighten its grip on the UK demolition industry and the threat of experienced and valuable personnel moving into other industries, we came up with the idea of Demolition-Jobs.co.uk.

The premise of the website was simple; it was, in fact, recruitment in reverse. Rather than companies advertising vacant positions, the site was designed to allow workers to advertise (for free) their availability to work. We worked closely with the National Federation of Demolition Contractors who helped us set the job titles and relevant qualifications, making employee listings as simple yet informative as possible.

Demolition-Jobs.co.uk has proved both popular and successful. It now contains the details of almost 500 demolition workers and is also regularly used by the UK’s leading demolition contractors to attract new employees.

Now, as the saying goes, there is nothing new under the sun. But we must admit that we were more than a little intrigued to learn that the US’ National Demolition Association had launched its own “Demolition Career Connection“.

Having taken a very quick browse through the outer layers of the site, we were struck by its similarity to our own site.

What do you think?
