Controlled Group calls in receivers…
Wakefield-based contractor latest to fall victim to recession.
Controlled Group, the multi-disciplined, Yorkshire-based contractor, has slipped into administration. According to our sources, the company made the official announcement on Friday of last week but no official statement is available at this time.
Furthermore, while it is believed that the company has appointed a firm of administrators, no details are currently available.
We will, of course, be following this one with considerable interest and will bring you further news as it breaks.

Sadly, this recession is a long way from over and I fear that more companies will fall before the market turns around. We certainly wish the former Controlled employees every success in finding alternative employment and would remind any that are reading this that http://www.demolition-jobs.co.uk is free for them to advertise their availability to work.

I worked at cdg from 1983 to 2008,from when it was Leeds demolition. Its a sad day for the demolition industry.

I couldn’t agree with you more Mick; it’s always sad to lose established companies.
However, my greater sympathies lie with the trained and highly skilled employees that have been left high and dry by this apparently unexpected announcement. We will be doing everything we can to help them find new jobs.

Sadly the end of an era, Lets not forget Controlled Demolition group under Charles Moran lead the way in explosives demolition UK and worldwide for many years and contributed greatly to the industries development. Some good memories.

You’re absolutely right Dick. It’s always sad to see a demolition contractor go to the wall; even worse when it’s a long established name. Just hope we can all help find alternative employment for those affected by this fallout.

It’s sad to see the company go, especially when the employees were owed so much money by the company!!

DemolitionNews.com has spoken to the administrators overseeing the liquidation but no official statement is available as yet. Slowly but surely, some of the former Controlled Group staff are finding alternative employment (more of that next week) but aside from conjecture, the demise of the company remains largely shrouded in mystery I’m afraid.

Not surprised on CDGs demise under the control of Steve Forster what do you expect? He was certainly not as capable as Charles Moran.

Trying to contact Nicola Boyes or Dave Tanner. My generator was stolen from The site in Liverpool and I need proof it was there when the site was closed. The administrators are saying it was not on site and despite losing £10K in revenue I am also a £10k generator down. Please call me 07891 862916.
