DemolitionNews Celebrates Landmark Change…

News portal joins forces with media company as part of planned expansion and diversification.

IMG_2188Mark Anthony, founder of DemolitionNews.com and editor of Demolition magazine, is celebrating a “new chapter” in the development of these world-leading industry brands. DemolitionNews and Demolition magazine are joining forces with Chambers Media, a Sussex-based business-to-business publisher, as part of a planned expansion of both the online and printed titles. Also included in the joint venture arrangement are the Demolition-Jobs.co.uk industry recruitment hub, and the recently launched men’s magazine, Bloke.

“All of our titles to date have been operated on a shoestring. Despite this, two of our titles – DemolitionNews.com and Demolition magazine – have become recognised market leaders, even though they are a one-man band operating from a back bedroom,” says Mark Anthony. “However, by joining forces with Chambers Media, we can bring so much more to bear. We will have access to greater editorial resources that will allow us to enhance our news gathering and news reporting activities. We can also draw upon their print-buying capabilities to safeguard and enhance the quality, frequency and profitability of all our printed titles.”

Ben Chambers, founder of Chambers Media, is similarly enthusiastic. “We have been actively seeking new titles to add to our portfolio of business-to-business and consumer publications. We were seeking respected and market-leading titles and in DemolitionNews and Demolition magazine, we have found just that,” he says. “It is clear that DemolitionNews is the leader in its field but it’s equally evident that there is more than can be done. The video partnership with DemoVision affords DemolitionNews access to some exclusive and high quality video content. And with our editorial capabilities, we can help to ensure that DemolitionNews and Demolition magazine are able to carry ever-more coverage of the global demolition industry.”

As part of the joint venture, the sales and administrative departments of DemolitionNews.com and Demolition magazine will be relocated to a new office in Worthing. The editorial department for both will remain in Epsom, Surrey for the time being.

“I am very proud of what we have achieved with DemolitionNews.com and the Demolition magazine but I am also mindful of the fact that there is only so much one writer and one designer can achieve,” Mark Anthony concludes. “With the addition of new administrative and editorial staff, we will be able to provide our readers – online and offline – with greater quantity and greater quality editorial. We are already working on some new value-added, industry-related publications and there is plenty more to come. 2015 was far and away the most successful in DemolitionNews’ relatively brief history. But 2016 will be considerably bigger.”
