Wrapped Wring machine to the rescue…

High reach checks in to tackle fire-damaged hotel.

A 85 tonne Wring Group high reach excavator is now on station at the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter which was damaged in a fire last week.

Featuring a special “wrapped” livery to commemorate Wring Group’s 90th anniversary, the machine will be used to remove the frontage to allow fire fighters access to the interior of the hotel.

Contracts manager Pete Williams said the aim was to carefully dismantle the facade and salvage any heritage assets.

But he could not offer any “guarantees” that original aspects of the structure would be recovered intact.
