Video – Wacker Neuson demonstrates future fuel…

Dual power excavator perfect for working inside and in zero emissions areas.

The Wacker Neuson 803 mini excavator arrives on site in much the same way as any standard mini or micro excavator, diesel power getting it off the trailer and on station ready for a day’s work. At that point, it becomes unlike any mini excavator. Rather than relying on noisy, smelly and contaminant rich diesel to power it through a working day, the 803 is hooked up to a dedicated and external electro-hydraulic drive unit, allowing it to operate completely emission-free.

The hydraulic power unit – known as the HPU8 – has been designed specifically for this applications and benefits from a compact and sturdy design and a high cooling capacity that has been tailored for the 803 machine.

And the Wacker Neuson is more than merely a showcase for some nifty power engineering. The reduced tailswing radius, 360 degree rotation of the chassis, low operating weight and compact dimensions make the machine a truly versatile workhorse that should find favour with contractors carrying out internal demolition or refurbishment works or those working in zero-emission locations such as hospitals, schools and zoos.
