Bon voyage to a big machine…

Coleman and Company wave a fond farewell to a former record-breaker.

coleman2As we revealed exclusively just a few days ago, the former largest high reach excavator in the UK has been sold to a demolition contractor involved in the post-quake clean-up operations in Christchurch, New Zealand.

No sooner had the ink dried on the cheque from Nikau Contractors than the 65 metre giant is being bagged up and readied for the long sea voyage as these exclusive photographs reveal.

Although the machine – split into its constituent parts for transport – is likely to take around 40 days to make the journey, there is currently no word on when it is like to go to work in Christchurch.

But that hasn’t stopped local newspapers from picking up on the story of the giant machine’s imminent arrival – See report here.
