Erith heads for the Cafe…
Erith Group awarded contract for the demolition of London’s world-famous Cafe Royal.
Back at the beginning of December 2008, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Christmas Luncheon hosted by The Builders’ Conference at what was to be one the last-ever functions held at London’s world-famous Cafe Royal in Regent Street.
Word now reaches us that Erith Group has been awarded the £4.5 million contract for the asbestos removal and demolition of this famous London landmark in a contract that is due to start next week and run for 40 weeks.
It’s superb news against a background of an ongoing lack of work and ever thinning margins. But, the chances are, Erith probably won’t have quite as much fun as I did the last time I was there!
We hope to bring you further news and photos (and possibly video) on this project soon.
